A full-length umbrella conceived as a permanent personal object. Its hand-carved walnut handle is joined to a precision-engineered shaft by a collar of blackened 18-karat gold, discreetly set with diamonds. Above it, a tightly woven black silk canopy is specially treated for water repellency. Built in limited numbers and finished by hand, each piece reveals the individual grain of the walnut from which it was carved. Designed to be carried for decades, restored when required and passed forward.

Craftsmanship
The handle is carved and polished by hand from a single piece of European walnut, selected for the depth and movement of its natural grain. A diamond-set collar of blackened 18-karat gold joins the handle to a darkened steel shaft. Its polished inner edges reveal the warmth of the gold beneath. The canopy is individually cut from densely woven black fabric and assembled over hand-fitted ribs. A saddle-stitched calfskin fastening strap completes each numbered piece.
The Story
Created for the quiet ritual of departure, The Sovereign Umbrella transforms an everyday necessity into a permanent personal object. Walnut, gold and black cloth meet without ornament for ornament’s sake. Every material is chosen to age with dignity, acquiring the marks of its owner rather than the signatures of a season. Made in a numbered edition of one thousand each umbrella may return to the House for maintenance and restoration.
